OCEACT would like to present this opportunity to join the Oregon Health Authority in a COVID-19 African American Community Mental Health Dialogue. Please review the details provided by OHA below:
“The current pandemic is highlighting disparities across a wide range of impacts and outcomes in our Black, African Immigrant and African American Communities that are the result of many factors including historical and contemporary racism, discrimination, oppression, toxic stress and intergenerational trauma. The Oregon Health Authority has not done enough to recognize and work with Communities of Color to resolve inequities and address their root causes. We want to hear from you and begin to forge the relationships needed to co-create approaches and services that truly support Black and African American communities.
Please join this dialogue co-hosted by Oregon Health Authority Behavioral Health Director, Steve Allen and Multnomah County Behavioral Health Division Director Ebony Clarke to dialogue about the best ways to utilize CARES Act funding to support the mental health needs of Black and African Americans within the state of Oregon.”
When: July 9th, 2020 5-6:30PM Pacific Time (US and Canada)

Posted below is the memorandum to resume ACT reporting and fidelity reviews as of July 1st, 2020. OCEACT will begin reaching out to ACT teams regarding quality assurance starting with ACT programs that had their ACT fidelity reviews cancelled due to COVID 19 between March 2020 and July 2020.
OCEACT would like to acknowledge the incredible work and accomplishment of Sara Kaye, MSW, LCSW, Team lead for EASA & Supported Employment/Education and her team in Benton County for having created this framework to support participants in considering the risks of employment during the COVID-19 crisis. Her work has recently been recognized and published in the National Association of State Mental Health Program Directors newsletter (vo 6 #21). We are grateful to be able to share this resource here for ACT teams’ own use in helping participants consider employment risks during this public health emergency.
